Miami Dolphins Foundation Grant
To provide South Florida with a solution to the growing concern of concussions in high school sports, the Miami Dolphins Foundation supports the UHealth Countywide Concussion Program (CCP), providing a comprehensive and multidisciplinary model for high school athlete concussion management.
This generous support from the Dolphins Foundation ensures Miami-Dade County Public Schools (M-DCPS) athletic trainers and athletic directors of Miami-Dade County Public Schools will receive one or more education and training workshops prior to football season. These workshops are also open to coaches, PE teachers, and nurses.
Additionally, the Dolphins Foundation grant ensures all M-DCPS high school athletes enrolled in a contact sport will receive baseline ImPACT testing and support at no cost to them or their families. Athletes will have the opportunity to participate in an optional online Educational Sports Safety and Concussion video program as well. The grant provides for further continuation of our concussion injury surveillance system, the expansion into more private high schools, and educational presentations to Miami Dolphins youth camps, and coach seminars for youth football leagues.
