This week, Dr. Hotz and members of the UConcussion team had the pleasure of meeting with Billy and Jake Reis – the founders of PlaySmart StaySmart – at UM Athletics; hosted by Vinny Scavo, Head Athletic Trainer and Dr. Cliff Page from Sports Medicine. The Reis brothers, both students at Christopher Columbus High School, formed their organization to spread concussion education and awareness amongst young athletes, and to advocate for better detection and concussion management procedures.

Over the last year, PlaySmart StaySmart has traveled the nation to spread the importance of concussion identification and education. UConcussion wishes to congratulate the Reis brothers for their interest in the well being of other players and dedication to education.
